MY INSPIRATIONS:

 Martha Spierer(aunt)  Lost her to Liver Cancer in 2011. It was such a shock from diagnosis to your passing was only a month and a few weeks. You were such a wonderful person and did so much for others. We will try to carry on that tradition by helping the children in the hosptials fighting cancer.

Many others in my life who have experienced cancer either by being affected themselves or having a loved one go through treatments or losing a loved one to cancer.  Cancer (no matter what type) is a terrible thing for anyone to go through -- for the person and to their loved ones. We are getting more and more treatments for different cancers and early detection means that we are fortunate to be able to live through what once would have been a death sentence. My hope is through research and devolpement we will be able to find cures for all types of cancer. I lost my grandmother to uterian cancer, my best friend just finished treatments for cervical cancer  and is currently cancer free, my aunt is undergoing treatments for breast cancer, lost my cousin (her daughter) to breast cancer, my uncle is undergoing cancer treatments and we lost Aunt Martha last year to Liver Cancer.

Beverlee Michalak (my mom)Lost her in 1995 to blocked arteries- not cancer. We miss you very much and know that you are watching us and guiding us. I remember when you took in a family friend and her children when their house burned down even though we barely had enough to feed us (two adults, 5 children, 2 dogs and a cat) you found a way to make it all work. You were always giving and I remember this in you and hope to make you proud with the work we are doing for the children in the hosptials.
